I’m very interested in the WW2 era and have read countless books from almost every perspective.  But the one thing I did not realize was how many children lost there lives in the Holocaust.  To think 1,500,000 did is heart breaking   And while this book tells a fictional story, it very much includes historical content.  And you get to know sweet Rose and Odette well.  In fact as a dad with a daughter, this book made me imagine going through this and how absolutely horrifying it must have been. Just like in the book, I felt drawn to the pictures (there are several pages of original photos) and kept looking at them time and time again. This book made a real impact on me and the happy twist at the end had me crying like a baby.  I highly recommend this book.  You’ll read it quickly and then can share it with others!

I have read many, many books in my lifetime about the Holocaust but this book was truly amazing.  Although it is fiction, there is so much true history in it, as well as being able to watch GOD in action, in the very way that HE works in all of HIS children's lives.  I read it straight through without being able to put it down, sent my copy on to a cousin and am now ordering another copy.  Thank you, Joy.  Your story of how this book came to be, and the story in this book, truly impacted me.
